about

There's a tradition of playing a "nugma" or repetitive melody that the tabla player can improvise over. Since this had been done on Tito Puente's "Top Percussion" album (and I dig that groove) we decided to do this one. I love the way GuruJi combines Indian and Latin rhythms in his improvisation.
